Porcine Lysozyme ELISA Kit

A colorimetric sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie for the quantitative determination of lysozyme in porcine samples. Designed for serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples, the assay supports research in animal health, infectious diseases, and immunology. Lysozyme is described as an important enzyme that plays a key role in the immune system of pigs, functioning as a natural antimicrobial agent that helps protect against bacterial infections, so monitoring its levels can offer valuable insights into porcine immune response.

Performance characteristics reported by the manufacturer include a sensitivity of 0.938 ng/mL and an assay range of 1.563–100 ng/mL. Spiked recovery averaged 98% in serum, 96% in EDTA plasma, and 94% in heparin plasma, while dilution linearity (tested at 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8) was 85–102% in serum, 85–103% in EDTA plasma, and 85–100% in heparin plasma. The workflow uses a biotin-labelled detection antibody, HRP-streptavidin and TMB substrate with absorbance read at 450 nm, and unopened components are intended for storage at 2–8°C for 12 months.
