Porcine Lactoferrin (LTF) ELISA Kit

This microplate-based immunoassay from Assay Genie quantifies porcine lactoferrin, an ~80 kDa iron-binding glycoprotein of the transferrin family, in serum, whey, milk, and tissue-derived samples. In swine biology, circulating and secreted lactoferrin concentrations are studied as markers of innate immune activation, mucosal barrier integrity, and colostral antibody transfer from sow to piglet during early lactation.

Each kit contains a microplate supplied with biotinylated detection antibody, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, lyophilized reference standards, wash concentrate, substrate, and stop solution. Reconstituted components should be aliquoted and frozen at -20°C to preserve binding activity across freeze-thaw cycles, while unopened plates and lyophilized reagents ship and remain stable refrigerated. Assay incubation proceeds through sequential addition of sample, detection reagent, and conjugate, with absorbance read after stop solution addition.

Researchers dilute whey, milk, or serum samples empirically within the assay's working range and run standards and unknowns in duplicate to reduce intra-plate coefficient of variation.
