Description

A sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the accurate quantification of fibroblast growth factor 7 (FGF7), also referred to as keratinocyte growth factor, in porcine samples. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method and is intended for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. Specificity is directed against natural and recombinant pig fibroblast growth factor 7.

The kit offers a detection range of 31.2-2000pg/mL with a sensitivity of 8pg/mL. Reported linearity across dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 includes 90-99%, 113-123%, 113-123% and 96-106% for serum; 107-117%, 91-102%, 117-126% and 107-119% for EDTA plasma; and 102-112%, 90-100%, 96-106% and 93-105% for heparin plasma. The target protein is secreted and plays a role in the regulation of embryonic development, cell proliferation and cell differentiation, and is required for normal branching morphogenesis. It is described as a growth factor active on keratinocytes and a possible major paracrine effector of normal epithelial cell proliferation.

Reactivity is confirmed for porcine (pig) samples, with the target referenced under UniProt accession Q9N198 and a reported molecular weight of 22,463 Da. Synonyms include heparin-binding growth factor 7, HBGF-7, KGF and FGF-7. The kit is supplied for research use only, with storage at 4°C/-20°C and long-term storage recommended at -20°C.
