Description

Assay Genie's Porcine IgA/Immunoglobulin A ELISA Kit is a Sandwich ELISA designed for the precise quantification of IgA levels in porcine samples. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method with a double antibody format and is validated for serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. Immunoglobulin A plays a key role in the mucosal immune system, defending against infections and maintaining mucosal surface health, and monitoring IgA levels supports studies of immune responses, disease progression, and treatment efficacy in porcine models relevant to immunology, infectious disease and vaccine research.

Performance specifications reported by Assay Genie include a sensitivity of 0.188 ng/mL and a working range of 0.313–20 ng/mL. Linearity has been demonstrated for serum (87–98%, 83–100% and 91–96% at 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions), EDTA plasma (93–105%, 82–100% and 82–95%) and heparin plasma (85–103%, 83–99% and 83–99%). Recovery ranges are 87–103% in serum (average 98%), 85–104% in EDTA plasma (average 96%) and 85–103% in heparin plasma (average 92%). Unused components are stored at 2-8°C for 12 months.

The assay workflow includes a primary incubation at 37°C for 90 minutes, a biotin-labelled detection antibody incubation for 60 minutes, HRP-Streptavidin binding for 30 minutes, TMB substrate colour development in the dark for 10–20 minutes, and absorbance measurement at 450 nm after addition of stop solution. Sample preparation guidance covers serum, plasma, tissue homogenate, cell culture supernatant and cell lysate, with centrifugation at 1000 × g for serum and plasma samples.
