Description

A quantitative sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie for the precise measurement of porcine interferon beta (IFN-β). The kit uses a double-antibody configuration and is reactive with porcine samples, including serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples.

Validated sensitivity is 9.375 pg/mL with a working range of 15.625-1000 pg/mL. The workflow uses a biotinylated detection antibody paired with HRP-conjugated streptavidin and a TMB substrate; absorbance is read at 450 nm after the stop reaction, with OD450 directly proportional to IFN-β concentration. Each kit also includes a Bradford Reagent for total protein quantification, supporting normalisation of lysate and tissue homogenate samples. Spiked recovery in serum averages 99% (range 88-103%, n=5), in EDTA plasma 95% (range 91-104%, n=5), and in heparin plasma 91% (range 86-103%, n=5), while linearity across 1:2 to 1:8 dilutions falls within 80-103% for these matrices.

Reagents ship on ice packs and components should be stored at 2-8°C, with the kit stable for 12 months under those conditions. The protocol runs at 37°C across the antigen-binding, detection antibody, and HRP-streptavidin steps, with colour development performed in the dark for 10-20 minutes before stop solution is added. The kit is for research use only and is suited to studies of antiviral immunity, autoimmune responses, and inflammatory pathways in pigs.
