Porcine IFN alpha/Interferon Alpha ELISA Kit

A sandwich-format, double-antibody ELISA kit from Assay Genie designed for the accurate quantification of interferon-alpha (IFN-alpha) levels in porcine samples. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method and is reactive with porcine species, supporting research into immune responses, viral defence, autoimmune disease and cancer-related biomarker studies. The kit accepts serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate and other liquid samples. According to the manufacturer, sensitivity is 9.375 pg/mL with a working range of 15.625-1000 pg/mL. Linearity across 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions is reported as 90-103%, 85-99% and 94-105% for serum, 82-98%, 85-96% and 83-100% for EDTA plasma, and 81-98%, 84-96% and 84-96% for heparin plasma. Recovery averages are 97% for serum, 92% for EDTA plasma and 95% for heparin plasma, with respective ranges of 86-105%, 86-98% and 86-105%.

The procedure involves equilibrating reagents and TMB substrate to room temperature, primary incubation at 37°C for 90 minutes, biotin-labelled detection antibody incubation at 37°C for 60 minutes, HRP-Streptavidin binding at 37°C for 30 minutes, TMB colour development in the dark for 10-20 minutes, and absorbance reading at 450 nm after stop solution is added. Kit components include a dismountable ELISA microplate, lyophilised standard, 100X biotin-labelled antibody, 100X HRP-Streptavidin conjugate (SABC), TMB substrate, sample, antibody and SABC dilution buffers, stop solution, 25X wash buffer, plate sealer and a technical manual. Storage is 2-8°C for 12 months.
