Porcine Glutamine synthetase (GLUL) ELISA Kit

Designed for the quantitative measurement of porcine glutamine synthetase, this sandwich-format ELISA from Assay Genie reacts with pig (porcine) samples and is validated for use with serum, plasma, saliva, urine, cell culture supernatant, and tissue samples, recognising both natural and recombinant pig glutamine synthetase.

The assay uses a colourimetric detection method with absorbance read at 450 nm and operates over a detection range of 31.2-2000 pg/ml, with a sensitivity of 8.2 pg/ml. Linearity has been demonstrated in serum (88-120%), EDTA plasma (82-109%), and heparin plasma (89-110%) across dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16. Reagents include pre-coated microplate strips, lyophilised standard, sample and assay diluents, detection reagents, wash buffer, substrate, and stop solution, along with plate sealers. Plates, standards, detection reagents, and diluents are stored at -20°C, while wash buffer, substrate, and stop solution are kept at 4°C.

Glutamine synthetase is a key enzyme in nitrogen metabolism, catalysing the ATP-dependent conversion of glutamate and ammonia into glutamine. With roles in ammonia detoxification, amino acid biosynthesis, and neurotransmitter cycling in the brain, the protein is of particular interest in neuroscience research.
