Description

From Assay Genie, this sandwich ELISA kit uses a double-antibody format for the quantitative colorimetric detection of ferritin in porcine samples, including serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell lysis buffer or tissue lysis buffer, and other biological fluid samples. Ferritin is a key protein involved in iron storage and regulation, and imbalances in iron levels are associated with conditions such as anemia and hemochromatosis.

Performance characteristics include a sensitivity of 3.75 ng/mL and a standard curve range of 6.25-400 ng/mL. Reported linearity in serum spans 87-104%, 88-101%, and 89-105% across 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 dilutions, with EDTA plasma showing 85-101%, 84-98%, and 84-101%, and heparin plasma showing 85-99%, 88-98%, and 82-99%. Recovery ranges are 86-95% for serum (average 90%), 88-104% for EDTA plasma (average 99%), and 92-105% for heparin plasma (average 99%). The kit is stored at 2-8°C for 12 months.

The workflow begins with reagent and plate preparation at room temperature, followed by primary incubation at 37°C for 90 minutes, biotin-labeled detection antibody binding for 60 minutes, HRP-Streptavidin binding for 30 minutes, TMB color development in the dark for 10-20 minutes, and absorbance measurement at 450 nm after adding stop solution.
