Decorin is a small leucine-rich proteoglycan (SLRP) secreted by fibroblasts and other stromal cells that plays a central role in organizing collagen fibrils, regulating TGF-beta signaling, and maintaining the integrity of connective tissues such as skin, tendon, and cartilage. In swine, decorin expression has been studied as a biomarker of fibrotic remodeling, scar formation, and growth-plate development, making reliable quantification in porcine samples relevant to comparative cardiovascular research, dermatology, and orthopedic studies.

From Assay Genie, this in vitro immunoassay provides a colorimetric readout in a 96-assay plate-based format. The kit accepts cell culture supernatants and plasma or serum specimens from porcine donors, allowing laboratories to profile decorin concentrations in conditioned media and in vivo-derived samples. Each pack contains pre-coated microwells, detection antibody, standards, and substrate sufficient for one plate, ready to be processed on a standard microplate reader.

The Porcine Decorin PharmaGenie ELISA Kit is supplied for research use only and supports quantitative work in fibrosis research, connective-tissue biology, and translational models that rely on Sus scrofa as a preclinical species. Reagents should be stored refrigerated and protected from light to preserve performance through the full shelf life of the kit.
