Porcine Complement factor B (CFB) ELISA Kit

Developed by Assay Genie for research use only, this Sandwich ELISA is designed for the quantitative detection of porcine complement factor B (CFB) in pig samples. The target analyte — also known as C3/C5 convertase, Properdin factor B, or BF — is recognised with specificity for natural and recombinant pig complement factor B. Recommended sample types include serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

According to the manufacturer, the kit has a detection range of 0.312–20 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.085 ng/mL. Linearity (% recovery across 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions, N=5) is reported as 92–101%, 95–104%, 117–117% and 86–98% for serum; 114–124%, 93–103%, 113–123% and 105–114% for EDTA plasma; and 97–106%, 95–107%, 104–114% and 85–95% for heparin plasma. Detection is by ELISA.

Complement factor B is a secreted monomer (UniProt entry Q03710; molecular weight 16,765 Da) belonging to the complement factor protein family and is a key component of the alternative complement pathway. It is cleaved by factor D into Ba and Bb; the Bb fragment is a serine protease that joins with complement factor 3b to generate the C3 or C5 convertase. The research area of application is immunology.
