Porcine Cathepsin K ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA, double-antibody assay from Assay Genie designed for the accurate quantification of Cathepsin K levels in porcine samples, including serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. Cathepsin K is described as a key enzyme involved in bone resorption and remodeling, with reported links to bone disorders such as osteoporosis and osteoarthritis, as well as other conditions including rheumatoid arthritis and cancer metastasis.

The colorimetric assay has a stated sensitivity of 0.188 ng/mL and a measuring range of 0.313-20 ng/mL. Reported linearity in serum spans 87-103% (1:2), 88-101% (1:4) and 80-98% (1:8); in EDTA plasma 91-102%, 82-92% and 80-94%; and in heparin plasma 90-103%, 82-101% and 87-96%. Recovery averages 94% for serum (range 86-104%), 95% for EDTA plasma (range 89-101%) and 93% for heparin plasma (range 85-104%). The procedure uses a biotin-labelled detection antibody and HRP-Streptavidin (SABC) with TMB substrate, and absorbance is read at 450 nm. Reagents are stored at 2-8°C for 12 months, with the lyophilised standard and microplate strips additionally suitable for 12 months at -20°C.
