Quantitative measurement of acute-phase inflammation in swine is supported by this CRP immunoassay from Assay Genie, which detects C-reactive protein in samples such as plasma or serum, as well as tissue homogenates, cell lysates, and cell culture supernatants. C-reactive protein is a pentraxin-family acute-phase reactant synthesized by hepatocytes, and circulating concentrations rise rapidly during systemic infection, inflammation, or tissue injury, making it a widely used biomarker in veterinary and translational porcine research.
Each kit contains sufficient reagents for 96 determinations, with standards and detection components configured for a microplate workflow. The colorimetric assay format enables standard curve generation and interpolation of unknown samples using routine plate-reader instrumentation commonly available in research laboratories. The format supports longitudinal studies, infectious-disease challenge models, vaccine-response monitoring, and comparative immunology work where species-specific reagents are required to avoid cross-reactivity issues with anti-human or anti-mouse CRP antibodies.
For optimal specimen integrity, samples should be aliquoted and stored refrigerated at 4 °C for short-term use or frozen below -20 °C for extended intervals; repeated freeze-thaw cycles should be avoided. Hemolyzed or lipemic samples may interfere with the assay and should be handled according to standard pre-analytical guidelines. The kit is supplied with a complete buffer set, calibrators, and detection antibody to support reproducible standard curves across the working range.
Intended for research use only, this Porcine CRP ELISA Kit is not validated for diagnostic or clinical applications and is appropriate for academic, government, and industry laboratories conducting swine inflammation research.
