Porcine BNP/Brain Natriuretic Peptide ELISA Kit

The Assay Genie Porcine BNP (Brain Natriuretic Peptide) ELISA Kit is a sandwich ELISA, double antibody assay designed for the precise detection of BNP levels in porcine samples. Using a colorimetric detection method, the kit is validated for serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples, with a sensitivity of 18.75 pg/mL and a standard range of 31.25-2000 pg/mL. BNP is a key peptide hormone involved in regulating blood pressure and fluid balance, serving as an essential biomarker for heart failure and various cardiovascular conditions in pigs, making the kit useful for studying cardiac function and therapeutic interventions in porcine research models.

Linearity was assessed at 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions (n = 5), with serum at 89-105%, 88-98% and 80-99%; EDTA plasma at 91-98%, 89-99% and 89-95%; and heparin plasma at 98-104%, 82-101% and 82-100%. Spike-and-recovery testing returned averages of 97% for serum, 94% for EDTA plasma and 97% for heparin plasma, with corresponding ranges of 90-103%, 85-104% and 87-105%.

The workflow involves equilibrating reagents, loading standards and samples for a 90-minute incubation at 37°C, adding a biotin-labeled detection antibody for 60 minutes, binding HRP-Streptavidin (SABC) for 30 minutes, developing with TMB substrate in the dark for 10-20 minutes, and reading absorbance at 450 nm after adding stop solution. Kit reagents are intended for storage at 2-8°C for 12 months.
