The Assay Genie Porcine DDC ELISA Kit enables quantitative measurement of aromatic-L-amino-acid decarboxylase (DDC, also known as AADC or AAAD) in porcine serum and plasma samples. DDC catalyzes the decarboxylation of L-DOPA to dopamine and 5-hydroxytryptophan to serotonin, making it a relevant biomarker in neurotransmitter metabolism, neuroscience, and cardiovascular research in swine models.

Built on a sandwich ELISA format with a colorimetric detection method, the kit includes a pre-coated 96-well microplate, ready-to-use standards, a biotinylated detection antibody, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, wash buffer, substrate solution, and stop reagent. The assay typically requires only 50 ul of sample per well and produces measurable absorbance readings at 450 nm using a standard plate reader.

For reliable performance, store unopened kit components at 2-8 degrees C and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles of the standards. Allow all reagents to reach room temperature before use, and run samples in duplicate to minimize intra-assay variability.

Researchers apply this ELISA Kit for studies on porcine pharmacology, neuroendocrine signaling, and translational models of Parkinson disease and aromatic amino acid disorders, with results suitable for publication and downstream immunohistochemistry or western blot correlation.
