Description

From Assay Genie, this sandwich ELISA, double-antibody assay is designed to accurately measure levels of the androgen receptor in porcine samples. The kit uses a colorimetric detection method and is validated for serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. It is suited to research into hormonal disorders, reproductive biology, and cancer, where androgen receptor dysregulation is linked to prostate cancer and androgen insensitivity syndrome.

Sensitivity is 37.5 pg/mL with a standard range of 62.5–4000 pg/mL. The kit is stored at 2–8°C for 12 months and references UniProt entry P80276. Linearity at 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions (n=5) is 88–103%, 90–100% and 95–100% for serum; 84–99%, 82–101% and 86–95% for EDTA plasma; and 80–98%, 83–100% and 80–98% for heparin plasma. Average recovery (n=5) is 96% for serum (range 91–104%), 95% for EDTA plasma (range 87–103%) and 93% for heparin plasma (range 85–102%).

The sample assay procedure comprises primary incubation at 37°C for 90 minutes, biotin-labelled detection antibody binding for 60 minutes, HRP-streptavidin binding for 30 minutes, TMB substrate incubation in the dark for 10–20 minutes, and absorbance reading at 450 nm after addition of stop solution. The protocol provided is a sample protocol; batch-specific instructions are included with each kit.
