Description

Designed for the accurate and sensitive detection of Apolipoprotein B (APOB) in porcine samples, this sandwich ELISA, double antibody kit from Assay Genie supports research into lipid metabolism, cardiovascular disease, and atherosclerosis in pigs. Apolipoprotein B is a key component of lipoproteins responsible for transporting cholesterol and other fats throughout the body, and elevated levels have been associated with increased cardiovascular risk.

Sensitivity is reported at 1.875 ng/mL, with a working range of 3.125–200 ng/mL. Compatible sample types include serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. Reagents should be stored at 2–8°C and remain stable for 12 months under those conditions.

The assay procedure consists of equilibrating reagents and TMB substrate to room temperature, loading standards, samples, blanks and controls onto the pre-coated plate, incubating at 37°C for 90 minutes for antigen binding, adding biotin-labelled detection antibody and incubating at 37°C for 60 minutes, adding HRP-Streptavidin (SABC) and incubating at 37°C for 30 minutes, developing colour with TMB substrate in the dark for 10–20 minutes, stopping the reaction and reading absorbance at 450 nm. Linearity for serum is 85–104%, for EDTA plasma is 82–101%, and for heparin plasma is 80–95% across serial dilutions. Recovery in serum is 95–100% (average 97%), in EDTA plasma is 86–101% (average 95%), and in heparin plasma is 85–97% (average 91%).
