Porcine Apolipoprotein A4 (APOA4) ELISA Kit

Assay Genie provides a sandwich-format ELISA kit for the quantitative measurement of porcine Apolipoprotein A4 (APOA4), also referenced by the synonyms ApoA-IV, ApoAIV and Apo-A4. The kit is intended for research use only and accepts serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids. APOA4 is described as a key protein in lipid metabolism, contributing to cholesterol regulation and lipid transport, and is studied as a biomarker in metabolic disorders including obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

Reported performance includes a measuring range of 6.25–400 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 2.41 ng/mL. Intra-assay precision is given as CV <10% and inter-assay precision as CV <12%. The assay is run with standard and detection reagent incubations at 37°C, and absorbance is read at 450 nm immediately after the addition of stop solution.

Spike-and-recovery in serum (n=5) was 80–102% with an average of 91%, in EDTA plasma (n=5) 81–100% with an average of 90%, and in heparin plasma (n=5) 80–89% with an average of 84%. Linearity across serial dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16 fell within 79–104% across the tested matrices. Stability is reported with a loss of activity of less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage conditions, and the kit carries a 12-month shelf life.
