Description

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of porcine Aminopeptidase N (ANPEP). The kit is reactive with pig samples and uses a colorimetric detection method, and is intended for research use only.

Acceptable sample types include serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids. Specificity covers natural and recombinant pig Aminopeptidase N. The assay reports a detection range of 0.156–10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.057 ng/mL. Linearity data across serial dilutions (1:2, 1:4, 1:8, 1:16; N=5) is reported for serum (81–107%), EDTA plasma (95–113%), and heparin plasma (88–114%).

ANPEP (UniProt P15145; molecular weight 108,832 Da) is a broad-specificity aminopeptidase involved in the final digestion of peptides generated by gastric and pancreatic hydrolysis, and in the metabolism of regulatory peptides such as angiotensin III and IV, neuropeptides, and chemokines. In the context of microbial infection, it serves as a species-specific receptor for the spike glycoprotein of porcine transmissible gastroenteritis coronavirus (TGEV) and porcine respiratory coronavirus (PRCoV). Listed synonyms include Alanyl aminopeptidase, Aminopeptidase M, Microsomal aminopeptidase, gp130, AP-M, CD13, and AP-N. The protein is localised to the cell membrane as a single-pass type II membrane protein, with a soluble form also described.
