PMP22 Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

A colorimetric cell-based ELISA kit from Assay Genie provides a sensitive, lysate-free assay for measuring PMP22 protein expression directly within cultured cells. PMP22, also known as peripheral myelin protein 22, is a key component of myelin in the peripheral nervous system and is associated with conditions such as Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease.

The kit employs an indirect ELISA format on a 96-well plate, using PMP22-specific primary antibodies paired with HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies that catalyse a colorimetric reaction read at 450 nm. It is validated for reactivity with human, mouse and rat samples and has a stated dynamic range of > 5000 cells. Storage is at 4°C for up to 6 months. A monoclonal anti-GAPDH antibody is included as an internal positive control for normalising target absorbance, and Crystal Violet whole-cell staining may be used to determine cell density and adjust for plating differences.

By enabling the relative quantification of PMP22 levels, the kit supports the study of peripheral nerve disorders and the screening of treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals) or activators on PMP22 expression in cultured cells.
