Description

From Assay Genie, this Cell-Based ELISA kit is designed to detect phosphorylated PEA-15 (Phospho-Ser116) in cell lysates using a colorimetric method read at 450 nm. The assay is reactive with Human, Mouse, and Rat samples, with a stated dynamic range of > 5000 Cells, and is provided in a 2 x 96-Well Microplate format. It is a phospho-specific assay intended for research in the cell death area, and is suitable for use with adherent cells.

The kit is a lysate-free, high-throughput assay that uses an indirect ELISA format. Phosphorylated PEA-15 (Phospho-Ser116) is captured by target-specific primary antibodies and detected with HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies that catalyze a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition. A monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH is included to serve as an internal positive control for normalization of target absorbance values, and the Crystal Violet whole-cell staining method may be used to determine cell density, allowing absorbance values to be normalised to cell amounts.

PEA-15 is an ubiquitously expressed anti-apoptotic protein involved in intracellular signaling pathways that influence cell survival, proliferation, and migration. Its phosphorylation at Ser116 has been linked to various diseases, including cancer and diabetes, making it a valuable biomarker for studying these conditions. Associated identifiers from the source: Gene ID 8682, UniProt ID Q15121, OMIM 603434, Unigene Hs.517216; gene symbol PEA15.
