Description

From Assay Genie, this Cell-Based ELISA Kit is designed for studying the phosphorylation status of the p73 protein in a cellular context. The assay enables measurement of p73 phosphorylation at Tyr99, supporting investigation of the regulatory mechanisms of this protein. It is reactive against Human and Mouse samples and is suited to research exploring p73 phosphorylation in cellular processes and its potential implications in diseases such as cancer and neurodegenerative disorders. The sample type is adherent cells.

The kit uses a lysate-free, high-throughput indirect ELISA format, in which HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies catalyze a colorimetric response upon substrate addition, read at 450 nm. The dynamic range is > 5000 Cells. A monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH is included as an internal positive control for normalizing target absorbance values, and Crystal Violet whole-cell staining is provided as a second normalization method to determine cell density and adjust for plating differences.

Database identifiers for the target include Gene ID: 7161, UniProt ID: O15350, OMIM: 601990, and Unigene: Hs.697294, with gene symbol TP73. The protein, Tumor protein p73, participates in the apoptotic response to DNA damage; isoforms containing the transactivation domain are pro-apoptotic while those lacking it are anti-apoptotic. The gene maps to chromosome 1p36, a region frequently deleted in neuroblastoma and other tumors.
