p53 Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

Designed as a convenient, lysate-free, high throughput assay, it can detect p53 protein expression profiles in adherent cells and is suitable for measuring relative amounts of p53 in cultured cells, as well as screening for the effects of various treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals), or activators on p53. The Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit uses an indirect ELISA format. p53 is captured by p53-specific primary antibodies, while HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies bind the Fc region of the primary antibody, allowing the HRP enzyme to catalyze a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition. Detection is at Colorimetric 450 nm, and the kit is provided in a 96-Well Microplate format with a dynamic range of > 5000 Cells. The kit shows reactivity with Human, Mouse, and Rat samples.

For normalisation, a monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH is included as an internal positive control, and the Crystal Violet whole-cell staining method may be used after the colorimetric measurement to determine cell density, so that absorbance values can be normalised to cell amounts.
