Description

Manufactured by Assay Genie, this Cell-Based ELISA Kit is designed for the qualitative measurement of p42 MAPK protein expression in cultured cells. The kit uses a colorimetric detection method measured at 450 nm in an indirect ELISA format, in which p42 MAPK is captured by target-specific primary antibodies and detected via HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies that catalyze a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition.

Validated for Human, Mouse, and Rat reactivity, the kit is intended for use with adherent cells and supports a dynamic range of > 5000 Cells. It is supplied in a 96-well microplate format and is stored at 4°C with a stated stability of 6 months. The workflow is lysate-free and supports high-throughput screening of the effects of treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals), or activators on p42 MAPK levels.

For normalization, a monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH is included to serve as an internal positive control, and a Crystal Violet whole-cell staining method may be used to determine cell density. The target, p42 MAPK, is also known as ERK2 (gene symbol MAPK1; Gene ID 5594; UniProt ID P28482) and is a serine/threonine kinase that plays a critical role in the regulation of cell growth and differentiation through MAPK signaling cascades.
