Description
From Assay Genie, this Cell-Based ELISA Kit is designed for the quantitative detection of OCT3 in cell lysates and tissue samples. The assay targets the POU domain transcription factor encoded by the POU5F1 gene, also referenced by the synonym OCT3, which is involved in early embryogenesis and embryonic stem cell pluripotency. The kit is suited to research in cancer, neurological disorders, and drug resistance, providing a convenient method for investigating OCT3 function in cellular physiology and disease mechanisms.
The lysate-free, high-throughput format uses an indirect ELISA approach in which OCT3-specific primary antibodies capture the target and HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies bind the Fc region of the primary antibody. Detection is colorimetric at 450 nm, with a dynamic range of more than 5000 cells. Reactivity covers human, mouse, and rat samples. The kit is intended for adherent cells and can be used to profile relative OCT3 expression as well as to screen the effects of treatments, inhibitors, or activators on OCT3 levels.
For data normalization, a monoclonal anti-GAPDH antibody is included as an internal positive control. Following colorimetric measurement, the Crystal Violet whole-cell staining method may be used to determine cell density, allowing absorbance values to be normalized to cell amounts and correcting for plating differences. Storage is at 4°C with a stated stability of 6 months.
