Description

Assay Genie provides a Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit designed to detect phosphorylated NMDAR2B at Ser1303 in cultured cells. The assay uses an indirect ELISA format with a colorimetric readout at 450 nm and is described as a lysate-free, high-throughput, sensitive method for measuring the relative amounts of phosphorylated NMDAR2B in cells, as well as for screening the effects of treatments, inhibitors such as siRNA or chemicals, and activators on NMDAR2B phosphorylation.

The kit is reactive with human, mouse, and rat samples and is suitable for adherent cells, with a dynamic range of > 5000 cells. A monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH is included to serve as an internal positive control for normalizing target absorbance values, and a Crystal Violet whole-cell staining method may be used to determine cell density so that plating differences can be adjusted.

Phosphorylation of NMDAR2B at Ser1303 plays a critical role in regulating NMDA receptor activity and neuronal signaling, and dysregulation of this event has been implicated in neurological diseases including Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and schizophrenia. The kit is positioned for researchers in neuroscience, neurobiology, and drug discovery. Target gene: GRIN2B (Gene ID 2904, UniProt ID Q13224).
