Description

From Assay Genie, this Cell-Based ELISA Kit is designed to detect NMDAR2B protein expression in cultured cells using a colorimetric method measured at 450 nm. The indirect ELISA format uses NMDAR2B-specific primary antibodies to capture the target, with HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies binding the Fc region of the primary antibody to catalyze a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition. The kit is lysate-free and supports high-throughput, sensitive measurement of NMDAR2B in adherent cells.

Validated for human, mouse, and rat samples, the assay has a dynamic range of > 5000 cells and is supplied in a 96-well microplate format with storage at 4°C for 6 months. For normalization, a monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH is included as an internal positive control, and a Crystal Violet whole-cell staining method may be used to determine cell density after measuring HRP activity.

NMDAR2B is a subunit of the N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor (NMDAR), an ionotropic glutamate receptor with high calcium permeability and voltage-dependent sensitivity to magnesium. It plays a key role in synaptic plasticity, synaptogenesis, excitotoxicity, memory acquisition, and learning. Dysregulation of NMDAR function has been implicated in several neurological disorders, including Alzheimer's disease, schizophrenia, and stroke, making this assay a valuable tool for research into NMDAR2B function in cellular signaling pathways.
