Description

A colorimetric cell-based ELISA kit from Assay Genie designed for the sensitive detection of phosphorylated NIPA (Non-Imprinted in Prader-Willi/Angelman Syndrome) protein at serine 354 in cell lysates. Reactive with Human, Mouse and Rat samples, the kit uses an indirect ELISA format in which HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies catalyse a colorimetric reaction read at 450 nm.

This high-throughput, lysate-free assay measures relative NIPA phosphorylation and expression in cultured cells, supporting research into cell growth, proliferation and differentiation signalling. A monoclonal anti-GAPDH antibody is included as an internal positive control for normalising target absorbance, and a Crystal Violet whole-cell stain is provided for determining cell density. The stated dynamic range is > 5000 Cells, and the kit is intended for use with adherent cells.

Database entries linked to the target (Gene ID: 51530, UniProt ID: Q86WB0, Gene Symbol: ZC3HC1) describe NIPA as a nuclear protein of 47,771 Da that forms part of the SCF-type E3 ubiquitin ligase complex SCF(NIPA), which controls mitotic entry by ubiquitinating cyclin B1. The gene maps to chromosomal location 7q32.2, with the protein localised to the nucleus and nuclear membrane and implicated in cell division, mitosis and protein ubiquitination.
