NEK9 Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

A Cell-Based ELISA from Assay Genie, this kit provides a convenient, lysate-free and sensitive method for detecting NEK9 protein expression in cultured cells. It uses an indirect ELISA format in which NEK9-specific primary antibodies capture the target and HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies catalyze a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition, measured at 450 nm. The assay is reactive with human, mouse and rat specimens and is suited to adherent cell samples, with a stated dynamic range of > 5000 Cells.

Researchers can use it to measure relative NEK9 amounts in cultured cells and to screen the effects of treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals) or activators on NEK9. For data normalisation, the kit includes a monoclonal anti-GAPDH antibody as an internal positive control, and a Crystal Violet whole-cell staining step that allows absorbance values to be adjusted to cell density.

NEK9 is a serine/threonine protein kinase related to NIMA, acting as a pleiotropic regulator of mitotic progression, spindle dynamics and chromosome separation. Dysregulation of NEK9 has been implicated in cancer development and progression, making it a valuable biomarker for studying tumorigenesis.
