Description

From Assay Genie, this cell-based ELISA kit is designed for the qualitative measurement of NDF2 (neurogenic differentiation factor 2) protein expression in cultured cells. The assay uses an indirect ELISA format in which NDF2 is captured by NDF2-specific primary antibodies and detected using HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies, with a colorimetric reaction measured at 450 nm. It is reactive with Human, Mouse, and Rat samples, and is positioned for research in developmental biology.

The kit is described as lysate-free, high throughput, and sensitive, and supports qualitative determination of NDF2 levels in adherent cells. It can be used to screen the effects that treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals), and activators have on NDF2 expression. Because the assay is qualitative, two normalization approaches are provided: a monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH serves as an internal positive control for target absorbance values, and Crystal Violet whole-cell staining can be used to normalize absorbance to cell density. The stated dynamic range supports work with > 5000 cells. Storage is at 4 °C with a stated stability of 6 months.

About the target: NDF2 corresponds to the official gene symbol NEUROD2, with synonyms NDRF and bHLHa1. It is a member of the neurogenic basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) protein family that acts as a transcriptional regulator implicated in neuronal determination. The protein mediates calcium-dependent transcription activation by binding to E box-containing promoters and is described as a critical factor essential for repression of the genetic program for neuronal differentiation. The reported molecular weight is 48 kDa, with UniProt ID Q15784 and Gene ID 4761.
