Description

From Assay Genie, this colorimetric cell-based ELISA kit is designed to detect and quantify MYC protein phosphorylated at serine 62 in cell lysates. The assay is performed on adherent cells and shows reactivity with human, mouse and rat samples. MYC is described as a proto-oncogenic transcription factor that plays a role in cell proliferation, apoptosis and the development of human tumors, and phosphorylation at serine 62 is highlighted as a critical post-translational modification relevant to MYC function in cancer and other research areas.

The kit uses an indirect ELISA format read at 450 nm, with a dynamic range of > 5000 Cells, and relies on HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies for colorimetric detection. A monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH is included as an internal positive control for normalising target absorbance values, and a Crystal Violet whole-cell staining method can be used to determine cell density and adjust for plating differences. The product is classified under the Epigenetics and Nuclear Signaling research area and is suited to high-throughput screening of treatments, inhibitors or activators on MYC phosphorylation.
