MTA1 Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA

From Assay Genie, this Cell-Based ELISA Kit is designed for the detection of MTA1 protein levels in cultured cells, with reactivity against human, mouse, and rat samples. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method read at 450 nm and is suitable for adherent cells, offering a dynamic range above 5000 cells.

The kit operates as a lysate-free, high-throughput, sensitive indirect ELISA. MTA1 is captured by target-specific primary antibodies, while HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies bind the Fc region of the primary antibody, catalysing a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition. A monoclonal anti-GAPDH antibody is included as an internal positive control for normalizing target absorbance values, and a Crystal Violet whole-cell staining method can be used to determine cell density and adjust for plating differences. The plate format is a 96-well microplate with recommended storage at 4°C for up to 6 months.

Typical applications include measuring relative MTA1 levels in cells and screening the effects that various treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals), or activators have on MTA1 expression, supporting cell biology research into gene regulation, cell cycle progression, and metastasis-associated pathways.
