MSK1 Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this cell-based ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative detection of MSK1 (Mitogen- and stress-activated protein kinase 1) levels in cell lysates, serum, and tissue homogenates, with reactivity against human and mouse samples. The kit uses a colorimetric detection method measured at 450 nm and is suitable for adherent cell samples.

Described as a convenient, lysate-free, high-throughput and sensitive assay, the kit can detect MSK1 protein expression profiles in cells without the need for lysate preparation. It can be used to measure the relative amounts of MSK1 in cultured cells and to screen for the effects that various treatments, inhibitors (such as siRNA or chemicals), or activators have on MSK1. Qualitative determination of MSK1 concentration is achieved by an indirect ELISA format, in which MSK1 is captured by MSK1-specific primary antibodies while HRP-conjugated secondary antibodies bind the Fc region of the primary antibody, catalysing a colorimetric reaction upon substrate addition.

A monoclonal antibody specific for human GAPDH is included as an internal positive control to normalise target absorbance values, and the Crystal Violet whole-cell staining method may be used to determine cell density. The assay has a dynamic range of > 5000 cells, is stored at 4 °C with a stated stability of 6 months, and is supplied in a 96-well microplate format.
