Mouse Zona pellucida sperm-binding protein 3 (Zp3) ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative measurement of mouse Zona pellucida sperm-binding protein 3 (ZP3) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids. ZP3 is a key glycoprotein of the mammalian zona pellucida that mediates species-specific sperm binding, induces the acrosome reaction, prevents post-fertilization polyspermy, and is essential for sperm binding and zona matrix formation.

The assay has a detection range of 0.625–40 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.312 ng/mL. Reported precision values are an intra-assay CV of 6.4% and an inter-assay CV of 8.3%. Linearity in serum (N=5) ranges from 93–104% at 1:2 to 107–116% at 1:16; in EDTA plasma (N=5) from 81–91% to 100–112%; and in heparin plasma (N=5) from 106–118% to 107–116%. Recovery is 82% (range 80–88%) for serum and 84% (range 80–90%) for plasma.

The kit specifically detects natural and recombinant mouse ZP3 and is intended for research use only, supporting studies in developmental biology and reproductive research. The target protein is a single-pass type I membrane protein; in its native form it exists as polymers of ZP2 and ZP3 organised into long filaments cross-linked by ZP1 homodimers (UniProt P10761).
