This quantitative immunoassay kit from Assay Genie enables researchers to measure Xanthine Dehydrogenase (XDH) protein levels in mouse-derived biological specimens. Xanthine dehydrogenase is a molybdenum-containing flavoenzyme that catalyzes the final two steps of purine catabolism, oxidizing hypoxanthine to xanthine and then to uric acid. Because of its central role in reactive oxygen species generation and uric acid production, XDH is a relevant target for studies of oxidative stress, ischemia-reperfusion injury, gout, hyperuricemia, and inflammatory signaling pathways in murine models.

The kit contains reagents sufficient for 96 individual determinations in a microplate format, with a colorimetric readout compatible with standard laboratory plate readers. The assay is validated specifically for mouse reactivity and is intended for use across multiple biological matrices, including serum-derived, plasma-derived, and tissue-homogenate samples, enabling profiling of XDH expression across fluid and tissue compartments from a single species. Each kit is supplied with a detailed protocol insert and quality control reagents needed for reproducible quantification in basic and preclinical research workflows.

Investigators studying purine metabolism, hepatic or renal function, vascular injury, or related metabolic and inflammatory processes will find this XDH ELISA useful for quantitative mouse studies. Reagents should be stored refrigerated and equilibrated to room temperature before use; kit components are intended for research use only and are not validated for diagnostic or therapeutic applications.
