Description

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie for the quantitative measurement of mouse Vitamin D3 receptor (Vdr) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids. The kit is reactive with mouse samples and is specific for both natural and recombinant mouse Vitamin D3 receptor. It is supplied for research use only, with the manufacturer listing cancer as the primary research area.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.312-20 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.161 ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 4.8% and inter-assay CV is 6.5%. Linearity across dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 fell within 89-116% for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma samples (N=5). Recovery averaged 103% (range 97-109%) in serum and 105% (range 99-111%) in plasma.

Vitamin D3 receptor is a nuclear hormone receptor and transcription factor that mediates the action of vitamin D3 by controlling the expression of hormone-sensitive genes, with a central role in calcium homeostasis. The receptor localises to the nucleus. Alternative names include 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 receptor, Nuclear receptor subfamily 1 group I member 1, VDR, and Nr1i1.
