About Urotensin-2 (UTS2): Urotensin-2 is a cyclic dodecapeptide recognized as the most potent endogenous vasoconstrictor identified in mammals, acting through the GPR14 (UTS2R) G-protein-coupled receptor. In murine research it is investigated in models of hypertension, cardiac hypertrophy, chronic kidney disease, diabetes, and neuroendocrine signaling, with circulating concentrations and tissue expression routinely used as biomarkers of cardiovascular and metabolic pathology.

The protocol uses a 50 µL sample volume per well, overnight incubation at 4 °C, competitive binding between sample UTS2 and immobilized conjugate, and a chromogenic readout that yields reproducible quantitation in cell culture supernatant and mouse plasma or serum samples.

Kit contents and handling: Packaged by Assay Genie as a microplate-format kit, it includes pre-coated wells, lyophilized recombinant mouse UTS2 standards, a biotinylated detection antibody, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, concentrated wash buffer, TMB substrate, and stop solution.
