Mouse Urocortin-3 (Ucn3) ELISA Kit

This Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is designed for the accurate measurement of Urocortin-3 (UCN3) levels in mouse serum, plasma, and cell culture supernatants. UCN3 is a key peptide hormone that plays a vital role in the regulation of stress response, energy balance, and cardiovascular function. Performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.312-20ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.162ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is reported at 4.4% and inter-assay CV at 6.8%. Linearity in serum (N=5) at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8, and 1:16 dilutions was 96-106%, 102-114%, 93-101%, and 113-113%. EDTA plasma (N=5) showed 91-99%, 102-115%, 82-92%, and 111-121%, and heparin plasma (N=5) showed 109-118%, 96-106%, 99-108%, and 94-104%. Recovery averaged 104% for serum (98-110% range) and 106% for plasma (100-112% range).

The kit detects natural and recombinant mouse Urocortin-3, a member of the sauvagine/corticotropin-releasing factor/urotensin I family with a molecular weight of 18,063 Da (UniProt Q924A4). UCN3 binds with high affinity to CRF receptors 2-alpha and 2-beta. Functionally, UCN3 suppresses food intake, delays gastric emptying, and decreases heat-induced edema, and may represent an endogenous ligand for maintaining homeostasis after stress.
