Mouse UDP-glucuronosyltransferase 1-6 (Ugt1a6) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of UDP-glucuronosyltransferase 1-6 (Ugt1a6) in mouse samples. The kit detects natural and recombinant mouse UDP-glucuronosyltransferase 1-6 and is intended for research use only. Reactivity is mouse, and the target is also referred to by synonyms such as phenol UDP-glucuronosyltransferase, UDP-glucuronosyltransferase 1A6, UGP1A1, UGT1A7, Ugt1a6a and Ugt1a7.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.156–10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.085 ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 6.2% and inter-assay CV is 8.1%. Linearity has been evaluated in serum (92–101% at 1:2, 84–95% at 1:4, 85–96% at 1:8 and 103–113% at 1:16), EDTA plasma (87–96%, 117–117%, 94–103% and 99–110% across the same dilutions) and heparin plasma (106–115%, 105–115%, 98–107% and 89–99%). Recovery is 106% in serum (range 100–112%) and 108% in plasma (range 102–114%). Acceptable sample types include serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

UDPGT (Ugt1a6a) is of major importance in the conjugation and subsequent elimination of potentially toxic xenobiotics and endogenous compounds. The enzyme conjugates small planar phenolic molecules such as 4-nitrophenol, 1-naphthol and 4-methylumbelliferone, while bulky 4-hydroxybiphenyl, androgens and estrogens are not substrates; 2-hydroxybiphenyl is described as an excellent substrate. The protein localises to the endoplasmic reticulum membrane as a single-pass membrane protein and belongs to the UDP-glycosyltransferase family, with a reported molecular weight of 60,439 Da (UniProt Q64435; NCBI Gene ID 94284).
