UCHL1 (Ubiquitin Carboxyl-Terminal Hydrolase L1), also called PGP9.5, is a neuron-enriched deubiquitinating enzyme that serves as a biomarker of neuronal injury and neurodegeneration in mouse models of Parkinson's disease, traumatic brain injury, and peripheral neuropathy. This quantitative kit from Assay Genie enables sensitive measurement of endogenous UCHL1 protein across murine sample types for research use only.

The colorimetric readout is supplied in a 96-assay format containing pre-coated plate, lyophilized standards, biotinylated detection antibody, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, and assay diluents. Validated sample matrices include brain and spinal cord tissue homogenates, cell lysates from neuronal or neuroblastoma lines, and cell culture supernatants from primary neuron cultures.

Unopened kit components should be stored at 4°C; reconstituted standards and diluted detection antibody are best aliquoted into single-use vials and stored frozen to limit freeze-thaw cycles across the shelf life. Investigators tracking dopaminergic neuron loss, axonal damage, or tumor-associated UCHL1 upregulation in murine cancer models can apply this assay to quantify protein changes across treatment cohorts, genetic backgrounds, or experimental time points.
