For researchers probing protein homeostasis and post-translational regulation in murine models, the Mouse Ubiquitin ELISA Kit from Assay Genie provides a quantitative tool for measuring ubiquitin across a spectrum of specimen types. Ubiquitin is a highly conserved 76-amino acid modifier (~8.5 kDa) that covalently tags substrate proteins, directing them toward proteasomal degradation or, in the form of polyubiquitin chains, toward autophagy, DNA repair, and signaling cascades. Quantifying free and conjugated ubiquitin pools in murine blood-derived samples, tissue homogenate, and cell culture supernatant helps characterize disease mechanisms in neurodegeneration, cancer cachexia, and immune dysregulation.

The kit arrives as a complete reagent set with a pre-coated microplate and running buffers, calibrated for 96 individual determinations run on a standard absorbance microplate reader. Researchers add samples and standards, incubate, wash, and develop a colorimetric signal that scales with ubiquitin concentration. Each lot is validated for performance on mouse specimens, and the included protocol walks through standard curve preparation, sample dilution guidance, and inter-assay precision checks.

Storage: keep unopened kit components refrigerated; protect from light. Shelf life and lot-specific expiry are printed on the box. The product is supplied for research use only and is not intended for diagnostic procedures.

Applications include studies of the ubiquitin-proteasome system, investigations of E3 ligase and deubiquitinase activity, biomarker discovery in mouse models of aging and disease, and characterization of protein turnover in cell culture.
