Description

Assay Genie provides a sandwich-format ELISA kit for the quantitative measurement of mouse Tyrosine-protein phosphatase non-receptor type 1 (Ptpn1) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay is specific for natural and recombinant mouse Ptpn1 and is intended for research use only.

The detection range is 0.78–50 ng/mL with a sensitivity of 0.4 ng/mL. Reported precision figures are an Intra CV of 4.3% and an Inter CV of 6.4%. Spike-and-recovery testing returned an average recovery of 88% (range 82–94) for serum and 90% (range 84–96) for plasma. Linearity has been evaluated at serial dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma samples.

Ptpn1 (also known as PTP-1B, PTP-HA2 and Protein-tyrosine phosphatase 1B) is a non-receptor tyrosine-protein phosphatase anchored on the cytoplasmic face of the endoplasmic reticulum membrane. It regulates the endoplasmic reticulum unfolded protein response by dephosphorylating EIF2AK3/PERK, and participates in insulin receptor signalling, CKII- and p60c-src-mediated cascades, the EFNA5–EPHA3 pathway and MET signalling. The protein entry is UniProt P35821 (NCBI Gene ID 19246), with a calculated molecular weight of 50 kDa. Listed research area: Epigenetics.
