The TNFRSF5 receptor, also designated CD40, is a 48 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein belonging to the tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily. It is constitutively expressed on B lymphocytes, dendritic cells, macrophages, and other antigen-presenting populations, where ligand binding by CD154 (CD40L) drives B-cell proliferation, germinal center formation, immunoglobulin class-switch recombination, and co-stimulatory signaling to T cells.

Dysregulated CD40 activity has been implicated in autoimmunity, chronic inflammation, graft-versus-host disease, and lymphoma biology, making reliable quantification of this receptor valuable in preclinical mouse models of immune activation, vaccine response, and transplant tolerance.

This Assay Genie ELISA kit provides a complete reagent set for measuring mouse TNFRSF5, packaged in a 96 assays plate format suitable for high-throughput screening of experimental cohorts. The assay produces a colorimetric read-out that can be quantified using standard microplate readers commonly available in immunology and cell biology laboratories.
