Description

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for quantitative detection of mouse CD40 (tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily member 5) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay uses colorimetric detection and is reactive with mouse samples, showing specificity for natural and recombinant mouse CD40.

Performance specifications include a detection range of 15.6-1000 pg/mL and sensitivity of 7.96 pg/mL. Intra-assay CV is 7.2% and inter-assay CV is 8.8%. Recovery in serum averages 103% (range 97-109%) and in plasma averages 105% (range 99-111%). Dilutional linearity in serum (N=5) spans 89-116% across 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions, EDTA plasma spans 81-120%, and heparin plasma spans 80-115%.

CD40 is a TNF-receptor superfamily member that acts as the receptor for TNFSF5/CD40LG, transducing TRAF6- and MAP3K8-mediated signals that activate ERK in macrophages and B cells, leading to induction of immunoglobulin secretion. The protein forms monomers and homodimers, with isoform II being secreted. The kit is noted for research use, with research applications that include cancer studies.
