TRPV1, also known as the capsaicin receptor or vanilloid receptor 1, is a non-selective cation channel that responds to heat, acidic pH, and pungent vanilloid compounds such as capsaicin. This Assay Genie quantitative immunoassay enables measurement of mouse TRPV1 protein in research samples, requiring only a small 20 uL aliquot per determination.

The kit is intended for research use only and supports studies of nociceptive signaling, inflammatory pain pathways, and thermal sensation in rodent models. Common applications include evaluation of TRPV1 expression in dorsal root ganglion neurons, bladder urothelium, and other tissues relevant to visceral and somatic pain research.

Reagents are shipped refrigerated and the standard, biotinylated detection antibody, and streptavidin-HRP conjugate should be kept frozen at -20°C until first use. Equilibrate all components to room temperature before running the assay and limit freeze-thaw cycles to preserve antibody activity over the kit shelf life.
