TREM-2 (Triggering Receptor Expressed on Myeloid cells 2) is a single-pass transmembrane immunoglobulin-like receptor predominantly expressed on microglia, tissue-resident macrophages, and dendritic cells, where it modulates phagocytosis of apoptotic neurons, dampens Toll-like receptor signaling, and supports microglial survival. Loss-of-function variants in TREM2 are associated with elevated risk of late-onset Alzheimer's disease, frontotemporal dementia, and the rare bone-and-neurological disorder Nasu-Hakola disease, which is why quantitative tracking of soluble TREM-2 ectodomain shedding is a frequent need in neuroinflammation and neurodegeneration research programs. The Mouse TREM-2 PharmaGenie ELISA Kit from Assay Genie delivers an absorbance-based immunoassay workflow for measuring this protein in mouse specimens.

Configured for 96 assays per plate, the kit is validated across multiple murine sample matrices, including cell culture supernatant, plasma-derived fractions, and serum-derived fractions obtained from mouse models. Researchers studying amyloid clearance, demyelination, osteoclast differentiation, or microglial activation can use the assay to compare TREM-2 levels between knockout and wild-type cohorts, monitor expression changes following drug treatment, or correlate protein concentrations across disease stages. Recombinant mouse TREM-2 standards are used to build a calibration curve, and the absorbance-based readout is measured on a standard microplate reader. Reagents are supplied in individual vials to limit freeze-thaw cycles, and the workflow is intended for research-use-only laboratories running immunology, neuroscience, or inflammation panels.
