Mouse Transthyretin (Ttr) ELISA Kit

Designed by Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA kit provides quantitative measurement of mouse transthyretin (TTR), also known as prealbumin, in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. Transthyretin is a key protein involved in transporting thyroid hormones and vitamin A in the bloodstream, and probably transports thyroxine from the bloodstream to the brain. Monitoring TTR levels can provide valuable insights into amyloid-related diseases, as defects in TTR cause transthyretin-related amyloidosis (AMYL-TTR), a hereditary condition involving amyloid deposition in tissues such as nerves, the heart and the leptomeninges.

The assay uses a sandwich ELISA format with a detection range of 0.312-20ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.156ng/mL. Specificity has been confirmed for natural and recombinant mouse transthyretin. Reported performance includes an Intra CV of 5.4% and an Inter CV of 7.7%. Recovery was assessed in serum (average 106%, range 100-112%) and plasma (average 108%, range 102-114%).
