TfR1, also called CD71 or the transferrin receptor, is the principal membrane glycoprotein responsible for cellular uptake of transferrin-bound iron. Altered expression of this receptor is a hallmark of disturbed iron homeostasis and a frequent biomarker in studies of anemia, erythropoiesis, and tumor proliferation. This ELISA from Assay Genie provides a quantitative immunometric endpoint for measuring mouse TFR in blood-derived specimens and tissue homogenates. The 96-assay kit is configured as a two-site immunometric format that yields a colorimetric signal proportional to receptor concentration, enabling parallel evaluation of standards and experimental samples across a single microplate. Applications include iron metabolism research, blood-brain barrier transport studies, neurodegeneration models, and receptor-mediated endocytosis investigations. Reconstituted reagents should be kept refrigerated between uses, and all components are supplied for research use only.
