Description

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie for the quantitative detection of mouse Thyrotropin receptor (TSHR), also referred to as Thyroid-stimulating hormone receptor or TSH-R. The kit is intended for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, and is specific for natural and recombinant mouse Thyrotropin receptor.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 31.2-2000pg/mL and a sensitivity of 15.6pg/mL. Intra-assay CV is 5.4% and inter-assay CV is 7.7%. Average recovery is 111% (range 105-117%) for serum and 113% (range 107-119%) for plasma. Dilutional linearity for serum across 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions is 90-103%, 80-92%, 91-103% and 102-111% respectively; for EDTA plasma 105-114%, 108-119%, 111-120% and 93-104%; and for heparin plasma 90-100%, 101-110%, 88-98% and 85-95%.

TSHR is a multi-pass membrane protein located at the cell membrane and basolateral cell membrane. It functions as the receptor for thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) or thyrotropin and for the heterodimeric glycoprotein hormone GPHA2:GPHB5 (thyrostimulin); its activity is mediated by G proteins which activate adenylate cyclase, playing a central role in controlling thyroid cell metabolism. TSHR interacts with the GPHA2:GPHB5 heterodimer to stimulate cAMP production, and interacts via a PDZ-binding motif with SCRIB to regulate TSHR trafficking and function. The product is for research use only.
