Mouse THP (Tamm–Horsfall Glycoprotein) ELISA Kit (MOES01522)

This quantitative immunoassay from Assay Genie is configured to measure Tamm–Horsfall glycoprotein (THP), also known as uromodulin, in mouse-derived research samples. THP is the most abundant protein normally present in healthy urine and is produced almost exclusively by epithelial cells of the thick ascending limb of the loop of Henle, so its concentration in serum and urine is commonly tracked as an indicator of tubular integrity.

Researchers deploy this kit to study renal physiology, characterize mouse models of autosomal dominant tubulointerstitial kidney disease caused by UMOD mutations, and probe the protein's role in nephrolithiasis, urinary tract infection, and innate defense of the urogenital tract. THP readouts are commonly paired with histologic evaluation of kidney sections and with markers such as creatinine and blood urea nitrogen when assessing tubular injury or recovery.

Each kit supplies pre-coated microplate wells, matched capture and detection antibodies, lyophilized standard calibrators, assay buffer, and substrate reagents in sufficient volume for a complete plate run. Components should be stored refrigerated upon receipt and protected from light; reconstituted standards and working antibody solutions are kept cold between uses.
