Description

A Sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie for the quantitative measurement of mouse TATA-box-binding protein (Tbp) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method with a reported detection range of 0.312–20 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.17 ng/mL. Specificity covers natural and recombinant mouse TATA-box-binding protein, and the kit is supplied for research use only.

TBP, also known as TATA sequence-binding protein, TATA-binding factor, TATA-box factor or Transcription initiation factor TFIID TBP subunit, is a general transcription factor that functions at the core of the DNA-binding multiprotein factor TFIID. Binding of TFIID to the TATA box is the initial transcriptional step of the pre-initiation complex (PIC), and TBP also participates in RNA polymerase I- and III-mediated transcription through its incorporation into the SL1/TIF-IB and BRF2-containing complexes. Dysregulation of TBP has been linked to various diseases, making it a valuable biomarker for studying molecular mechanisms and disease pathways in mouse models. The protein localises to the nucleus, is catalogued under UniProt P29037, and the kit is associated with the Neurosciences research area.
